Boy killed in pickup truck crash while riding scooter in Lake Stevens

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — A 12-year-old boy died Tuesday evening after being struck by a pickup truck while riding a scooter in Lake Stevens, KOMO News reports.

Lt. Todd Swenson with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened in the 5500 block of 91st Avenue Northeast at approximately 7:20 p.m.

The boy was riding scooters with a friend when he suddenly traveled into the path of a pickup truck.

The driver of the pickup truck was unable to stop the vehicle in time and struck the boy.

The driver stayed behind and rendered aid to the victim until medics arrived and administered life-saving measures.

After thirty minutes, the boy died from his injuries at the scene.

The involved driver is cooperating with the police.
