BLEWETT PASS, WA – WSP Troopers responded to a small leisure boat that had fallen off its trailer on Highway 97 near Blewett Pass, blocking one lane on Monday evening.
Boat fell off a trailer on SB SR 97 MP164 (Just North of Blewett Pass). Failure to secure boat with tie downs and safety chains results in a blocked lane, damage to the boat, a tow bill and a ticket for failing to secure a load. The boat detached from the vehicle and trailer that was pulling it because it was not tied down well enough. WSP issued the driver a ticket for failure to secure their load.
No one was injured when the boat fell off its trailer, though it did leave skid marks on the roadway, showing how it dragged down the road. Blewett Pass is about two hours east of Seattle.
