PIERCE COUNTY, WA — A Burlington Northern and Sante Fe train derailed and struck a power pole Tuesday afternoon at the Port of Tacoma, according to FM News 101 KXL.

Crews with Tacoma Fire Department responded to the scene in the 2100 block of Port of Tacoma Road, near the Blair Waterway.

Authorities said one of the train’s locomotives hit a pole in the derailment, knocking down power lines.

No details have been shared on a possible cause of the crash, but fire officials confirmed no injuries were reported in the incident.

Tacoma Public Utilities has since worked to restore power to 35 impacted customers.
