Bicyclist struck by train in Kelso, suffers critical injuries

KELSO, WA – A train collided with a bicyclist on the evening of July 7, according to KOMO News.
The accident occurred at Allen Street and Cowlitz Way around 11 p.m. Tuesday night, according to Kelso police.
First responders found a man pinned underneath the train with his bicycle lying nearby. They worked with train officials to disconnect part of the train in order to more easily free the victim.
Firefighters worked to stabilize the man as the train was moved off of him.
The victim was taken to St. John Medical Center around 11:30, as soon as he was freed from the train.
