Bellingham, Washington – One Man Injured After a Fall at the Park

Bellingham, Washington(August 27, 2019) – A man was believed to have broken his leg after falling near the whirlpool falls of Whatcom Falls Park on Tuesday evening. Crews from Bellingham fire responded to the scene and rescued the injured man, with an aid crew from the South Whatcom Fire Authority transporting the victim to a hospital.
Response crews arrived on Arbor Avenue around 5 p.m. after receiving reports of a man who fell approximately 25 feet. By the time firefighters arrived, friends of the victim had already pulled him out of the water, and crews took over from there. It is believed that the injured man has slipped and fallen, leading to his injuries.
