SEATTLE, WA — A man was hospitalized Wednesday morning after falling onto a retail store awning in Seattle’s University District, according to Seattle Fire Department.

Fire crews responded to the scene in the 2500 block of Northeast University Village Street and was first reported at 9:15 a.m. A photo shared by Seattle Fire suggests the incident occurred just outside the Anthropologie retail store.

A rope rescue response was conducted to extricate the man from the awning. At least four crew members were shown in the photo leading the operation.

The man was safely pulled off the awning in stable condition. Paramedics then transported to a nearby hospital for further medical attention.

No other information has been reported on how the man or how he came to fall on the awning.
