86-year-old woman drowns when boat sinks in Yakima River

KITTITAS COUNTY, WA – An 86-year-old woman drowned in the Yakima River after the boat she was on capsized last Thursday, according to KIMA.
Linda Zee, 86, was one of three people who were thrown into the water after their pontoon boats hit some logs in the river and began taking on water. The Swift Water Rescue Team from the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office attempted CPR on Zee, but she died at the scene. Zee had been under the water for 10 minutes before rescue crews arrived.
A 64-year-old woman and a 76-year-old man were also thrown into the water but managed to make it to shore.
