TOPPENISH, WA – A 15-year-old boy was injured in a hit-and-run crash in Toppenish Thursday night, according to CBS Yakima.

The accident happened on Interstate 82, about two miles west of Grandview when a 19-year-old driver of a Hyundai Sonata rear-ended a Chevy Tahoe.

The driver of the Chevy, Salvador Munoz Gonzalez, 43, fled the scene on foot even though his was not the striking vehicle, and was later captured by authorities. He is facing a charge of hit-and-run.

A 15-year-old passenger in the Hyundai was taken to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.

Manuel Delgadillo Monreal, the driver of the Hyundai, received a citation for driving too closely behind another vehicle.
