NORTH BEND, WA – A series of crashes resulted in the closure of I-90 westbound in the vicinity of North Bend on Saturday, KOMO reports.
Icy conditions were a factor in 15 crashes, including three rollovers. The Washington State Patrol blocked traffic in the area so that tow trucks could clear the scene.
While it does not appear that anyone was seriously hurt, a mother and her infant child were taken to Bellevue’s Overlake Hospital with unspecified injuries.
Two troopers were also affected by the series of collisions, when their cruisers were hit by other vehicles.
WSP had already responded to nearly 200 calls by noon on Saturday.
