12-vehicle accident on WA-599 causes injuries, traffic delays

SEATTLE, WA – A 12-vehicle accident on northbound WA-599 at E Marginal Way has resulted in injuries and traffic delays early this morning.
Trooper Rick Johnson, the Washington State Patrol District 2 PIO, said that the accident happened at about 5 a.m. The female driver of a dark coupe caused the pileup and then fled the scene on foot; she is believed to have eventually been picked up by another vehicle. Non-life-threatening injuries have been reported. No other details about the accident itself are available at this time.

The Washington State Department of Transportation reports that WA-599 northbound continues to be closed in the area of E Marginal as of 7:24 a.m., and it is unclear when those conditions will change.
