SKAGIT COUNTY, WA – Two people were killed after a driver heading the wrong way on State Route 20 collided with another vehicle.

According to KING 5, the wrong-way driver was heading west in an eastbound lane of SR 20 when they crashed head-on into another vehicle heading east. The two drivers died at the scene.

State Troopers responded to the scene around 12:30 p.m. to find one of the vehicles partially hanging off the bridge near Swinomish Slough.

It is not clear why the driver was going the wrong way on SR 20 but WSP Troopers are investigating.
