Train hits, kills woman who was on train tracks in Everett

EVERETT, WA – A woman died after a train struck her on the train tracks near I-5 and Riverfront Boulevard on Sunday night, My Everett News reports.

BNSF employees reported the accident around 9 p.m. Sunday. First responders took the woman to Providence Regional Medical Center where she died a short time later.

According to Aaron Snell, a spokesperson for the Everett police, officials are still investigating why the victim was on the tracks. Her identity has not been released.
