Lynden, Washington (August 14, 2019) – A brush fire that that was spotted out half a mile north of East Pole Road on Wednesday is being called the Wiser Lake fire. While some houses were near the area, none of them were in danger of the fire. One firefighter might have possibly been transferred to a medical unit for treatment of dehydration, so far there have been no confirmed reports of injuries.

The fire was first reported around 12:52 p.m. As of the latest report the fire was still burning, but a helicopter on the scene has dampened the fire to prevent it from spreading. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
