Gig Harbor, Washington – Car Crashes Into Home

Gig Harbor, Washington (May 28, 2019) – A car crashed into a home in the area of 42nd Street Court Northwest and Reid Drive Northwest. The driver was reported to be shaken from the incident, but uninjured. No one was in the home at the time of the crash, and there were no other injuries reported.

The crash happened just after 11 a.m. The driver mistook the accelerator for the brake, causing the vehicle to go forward and crash into the house, causing the car to go through the awning support beams and end up on the front porch of the structure. Fortunately, the awning did not fall onto the vehicle, and the response crews was able to extricate the driver safely. The entire incident is considered suspicious and no impairment is not a factor in the crash.
