Young motorcyclist hospitalized after crash with DUI driver in Lynnwood
Request Free ConsultationLYNNWOOD, WA — A 21-year-old Edmonds resident was critically injured Tuesday night in a collision with an impaired driver in Lynnwood, according to My Edmonds News.
The crash happened along Highway 99 at around 10 p.m. A southbound Dodge Caravan was attempting a left turn onto 52nd Avenue when he struck the motorcyclist, who was riding in the northbound lanes.
A passing witness was reported to have administered aid to the injured rider before emergency responders arrived. The rider was then transported to Harborview Medical Center with critical injuries. On Wednesday, a day after the accident, a police spokesperson said the victim’s condition has stabilized but remains critical.
The at-fault driver, a 51-year-old Shoreline resident, was arrested for suspected impairment and is expected to be charged for vehicular assault. He was not reported injured.
Further investigation into the crash is underway.
