Yakima, Washington (February 23, 2020) – One man was hospitalized in a head-on collision that occurred on the westbound lanes of Highway 12 on early Sunday morning. According to the article from iFIBERONE News, the driver of the vehicle that was struck, a 24 year-old man from Wapato, was taken to Virginia Mason memorial Hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries. The causing driver, 23 year-old Daniel A. Mendoza Acosta from Moses Lake, was unhurt.

According to the report, Acosta was driving east on the westbound lanes of Highway 12 just before 2 a.m. Shortly after Acosta collided with the vehicle of the Wapato man. The Washington State Patrol is seeking a charge of vehicular assault against Mendoza Acosta and also reported that drugs or alcohol may be involved in the incident. Both vehicles involved in the collision were impounded by the Washington State Patrol.

In rollover collisions, the car will come to rest on its side or roof, resulting in a dangerous situation which passengers might need to be extricated from. In side collisions, the greatest risk comes to the passenger on the particular side that received the impact. No matter the type of accident, all crashes are bound to cause a dreadful situation for all involved.
