Yakima, Washington – Brush Fire

Yakima, Washington (May 23, 2019) – A brush fire alongside East Interstate 82 near Union Gap was reported to have happened on Thursday. Fortunately, there have been no injuries or damage reported from the fire.

The fire was located behind an arboretum, and the flames used the logs in the area as fuel. The fire was also strengthened by winds in the area. It is currently unknown what sparked this particular case of brush fire or if any agency handled the case.

The US Fire Administration has recorded 15 home fire fatalities this year within Washington, showing the destruction fire is capable of doing.
