Yakima Canyon Road closed due to Evans Canyon Fire

YAKIMA, WA – Parts of Yakima Canyon Road have been closed in response to the rapidly spreading Evans Canyon Fire, which has now burned up to 52,000 acres of land.

According to KIMA, State Route 821 is closed from milepost 3 to milepost 24. This roughly extends from Yakima to Ellensburg. Washington State Patrol encourages travelers in the area to take I-82 if traveling between the two towns.

Officials have not confirmed when SR 821 will reopen.
