Woman seriously hurt after car slams into tree near Coupeville
Request Free ConsultationISLAND COUNTY, WA — A 40-year-old woman was airlifted to the hospital Sunday afternoon after a single-vehicle collision near Coupeville.
According to the Whidbey News-Times, Central Whidbey Island Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the scene near the intersection of Race Road and Shangri-La Circle after receiving a call at 4:23 p.m.
Further investigation found the woman was driving a Ford Windstar minivan when it went down a small hill and crashed into a tree.
Crews worked to extricate the driver from the vehicle before flying her to Everett’s Providence Regional Medical Center with a broken leg and a few cracked ribs. Her 20-year-old daughter, a passenger in the minivan, suffered minor injuries, including small cuts across her chest.
No further information has been released on the possible cause of the crash.
