FREDERICKSON, WA (PIERCE COUNTY) – A woman pushing a shopping cart in the road was hit and killed by an SUV in the Frederickson area last night, according to KOMO News.

The accident happened in the 19000 block of 78th Avenue E, about 7 miles southwest of Puyallup, at about 9:30 p.m. According to the report, the weather was rainy at the time.

A woman, who has yet to be identified by police, was pushing a shopping cart while in the roadway when she was struck by a GMC Yukon SUV. She died as a result of injuries sustained during the crash.

The driver of the SUV, along with another motorist, stopped to assist the woman after the collision.

Authorities do not think that the driver was under the influence when the crash occurred.

The victim has been described as a blonde woman in her 40s, about 5’5” tall and weighing around 120 lbs.

Those with possible information regarding the accident or the victim’s identity are asked to contact the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.
