KITSAP COUNTY, WA — A woman sustained injuries Saturday afternoon after losing control of the trailer her vehicle was hauling on state Route 3 in Bremerton, according to The Olympian.

The accident happened at Erlands Point Road Northeast shortly before 1:00 p.m. The woman, a resident of Mason County, was driving northbound on SR-3 when her 28-foot travel trailer started to swivel back and forth until it overturned on its side over both northbound lanes. The Chevy Tahoe she was driving then disconnected from the trailer and hit the guardrail, overturning onto the driver’s side.

The driver was taken to St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale where her condition was not disclosed.

Washington State Troopers said high speed and an above-maximum cargo load for vehicle capacity contributed to the incident.

The crash caused a two-hour traffic backup.
