Woman hospitalized after motorcycle crash on I-5 near Smokey Point

SMOKEY POINT, WA — A motorcyclist was critically injured Monday evening when she was thrown off her bike at the scene of another wreck on Interstate 5 near Smokey Point, according to KOMO News.

Troopers with the Washington State Patrol said the woman was heading southbound on I-5 near Smokey Point in northern Snohomish County when the accident occurred. The crash was first reported at 6:37 p.m. by Trooper Rocky Oliphant with WSP for District 7.

The woman had veered her bike off the road and onto the median at an attempt to bypass an earlier crash scene but struck a barrier. She was ejected from the motorcycle and suffered critical injuries.

State troopers and medics who were attending the the previous crash called to have the woman airlifted to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center. Her condition has not been disclosed.
