ROCKPORT, WA – Two rockslides that covered both lanes of the North Cascades Highway on June 11 are beginning to get cleaned up today, according to officials.

The two rockslides occurred around 8 p.m. the night of Wednesday, June 11, close to Shular Road in Rockport.

Washington Department of Transportation reported the cleanup started around noon on Monday via their Twitter account.

A photo of the scene showed heavy construction machinery clearing up the rocks and dirt.

WSDOT reported that it will take at least a month of work before the hillside will be stable again.

No one was injured in the rock slides.
