Update: Evans Canyon Fire burns five buildings

SELAH, WA – The Evans Canyon Fire grew from 2,500 acres to 12,000 acres overnight and is thriving on dry brush near the Yakima and Kittitas County line.

According to KOMO News, people in the area near Ellensburg Canyon Road and south to Selah have been ordered to evacuate. The fire has already burned five buildings since yesterday. Firefighters are dumping water on the fire from helicopters and attempting to protect structures that are in its path.

No one has been injured in this fire. Officials are unsure what caused the fire.
