TACOMA, WA – Prosecutors in Pierce County have charged the individual responsible for a fatal collision in late September.

According to The Tacoma News Tribune, 19-year-old Vave Patea was responsible for a Sept. 29th collision near the intersection of 7th Street and Madison Street that killed one man and seriously injured another.

Prosecutors say 45-year-old Raymond Herndon was killed when Patea’s 2015 Dodge truck crashed into his vehicle. Herndon’s 60-year-old passenger was hospitalized following the crash.

Patea was unlicensed when the accident occurred. He is facing charges of vehicular homicide, vehicular assault, and reckless endangerment.
