Two teenagers arrested in connection with elementary school fire
Request Free ConsultationPUYALLUP, WA – Two teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of setting off fireworks that caused a second-degree fire inside Karshner Elementary School on July 5.
According to Patch, the two teenage boys were playing with fireworks on Sunday morning, July 5, on the southeastern side of the school.
The trash can they were throwing the fireworks into caught fire, which quickly spread to the school building.
The second-degree fire caused significant damage to the school, and firefighters urged nearby residents to shelter indoors because of the abundance of smoke. No one was injured.
The two boys are expected to face first-degree arson charges.
