Two people killed in crash on SR-510 near Nisqually Reservation

NISQUALLY INDIAN COMMUNITY, WA – Two people were killed last night in a multi-vehicle collision on State Route 510, near the Nisqually Indian Reservation outside of Olympia.

According to Trooper Robert Reyer of the Washington State Patrol, the accident occurred west of the Red Wind Casino, near milepost 10.4, at about 5 p.m., when the driver of a silver passenger vehicle went off the right side of the highway.

The vehicle went into a ditch, then the driver overcorrected the vehicle, sending it into the left lanes. It struck one vehicle, then was hit by the driver of a car headed westbound.

Two people were confirmed dead in the crash. Their identities were not immediately released.

All lanes of traffic were blocked for over three hours as authorities investigated the accident. The roadway was open again by 8:22 p.m.
