Two pedestrians dead, driver apprehended at 7-Eleven near hit-and-run scene

NORTH CREEK, WA (SNOHOMISH COUNTY) – A man was arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident after he drove the suspect vehicle into a 7-Eleven near the crash scene on Friday.

According to the Washington State Patrol and KING 5 News, the accident occurred on State Route 524, near Nellis Road, at about 5:30 a.m., when two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle and ended up in a ditch. The driver then fled the scene.

The victims were identified as 39-year-old Marysville woman Sarah Foxheath and 32-year-old Lynnwood resident Carson Cox.

Authorities were investigating at a 7-Eleven near the scene when the driver, still operating a vehicle showing signs of heavy damage, including a shattered windshield, pulled in to refuel. He was immediately questioned by authorities.

The suspect, a 27-year-old man from Bothell, claimed his silver Chevrolet Malibu had collided with a garbage can. He also claimed he’d pulled over to investigate immediately following the crash.

It is uncertain if the driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident.

He was taken to Snohomish County Jail under two counts of felony hit-and-run.
