SEATTLE, WA — A train engine fire Tuesday morning near King Street station closed down all rail lanes in Seattle, according to KOMO News.

Fire crews arrived to the scene in the 300 block of South Jackson Street at around 7:00 a.m upon reports of smoke and flames emitting from an engine compartment of a BNSF train.

A spokesperson with the Seattle Fire Department said the team deployed a full response and precautionary measures, including shutting down all train lines.

The fire was discovered in the electrical equipment near the top of the engine, and firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames.

There were no reported injuries.

The fire response resulted in some streets being partially closed, but they have since reopened.
