Three airlifted from two-car accident in Federal Way

FEDERAL WAY, WA – Three accident victims were airlifted from the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 in Federal Way on Monday night.
According to KIRO 7 News Seattle, the accident happened in the southbound direction of I-5 just to the south of State Route 18. One of the involved vehicles also caught fire.
The driver who caused the accident was flown to Harborview Medical Center, along with two other victims.
Law enforcement suspected the causing driver of drug or alcohol impairment. This was confirmed and the driver was taken into custody.
All lanes of traffic were blocked by the accident and, even after reopening, delays were reported. Drivers were encouraged to seek out alternate routes.
