Tacoma, Washington – Three Hurt in Collision Involving Three Cars

Tacoma, Washington (April 29, 2019) – Three people were reported to be injured in three-car collision on the northbound Interstate 5 near Exit 130 on Monday. The three injured have been identified as James Deagle from Ruston, and Lakewood residents Nicole Santarini and James Porter. Deagle was taken to MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital, while Santarini was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma. Porter did not require to go to the hospital.

According to the Washington State Patrol, it would appear that Santarini was responsible for the incident. She was reportedly following Deagle closely, and failed to brake when traffic slowed around the exit 130 to South 56th Street around 12:30 p.m. When Deagle slowed down, Santarini rear-ended his car, causing Deagle’s pick-up to be pushed forward into Porter’s vehicle. Santarini will be facing charges for driving without insurance and following too closely, officials said.

Keeping in mind that the geography  in Seattle is fairly mountainous, and that surrounding water has created for a road situation which includes many tunnels, bridges, hills and narrow roads, there are many locations with the potential for car accidents. We urge all drivers to practice caution while out on the streets. It would help to identify busy roads and try to avoid being in their proximity to minimize any risk of a vehicle accident. Any mistake can lead to injuries and damage not only to your person, but on other people as well.
