Tacoma, Washington – Four Vehicles Involved in Wrong-Way Crash at I-5

Tacoma, Washington (June 3, 2019) – Two drivers were taken to the Tacoma General Hospital after a four-vehicle crash on the Interstate 5. The conditions of the drivers have not been provided. Three children riding in one of the cars involved appeared to be uninjured in the incident, but were still taken Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma as a precaution.

According to troopers, the causing driver was driving north in the southbound lanes at Portland Avenue, and struck another car while doing so. The struck car spun into another vehicle, while the causing vehicle collided head-on with yet another vehicle. Additionally, the causing driver was said to be impaired, which was a factor in the resulting incident. The causing driver is now facing charges of driving impaired as well as driving the wrong way.
