Tacoma police officer pulls crash victim from burning vehicle

A TPD officer pulled the at fault driver out of his burning vehicle. The at fault driver has been placed under arrest for DUI. Only minor injuries to everyone involved. Thank you to the Tacoma Fire Department @TacomaFire for quickly getting the fire out!

According to a series of tweets sent from the department’s official Twitter account, the incident began sometime before 3:45 p.m., when a motorist drove out of a Burger King parking lot, hit an SUV, and continued south on 38th Street. The vehicle then drove into a gas station in the street’s 3000 block, where it collided with a gas pump and a third vehicle. The at-fault vehicle then caught fire, and its driver was pulled out by a responding police officer. That individual was placed under arrest for suspected DUI.
A woman and a 7-year-old child and who had been in the third vehicle were not hurt.
