Tacoma Fire responds to call about carbon monoxide in home
Request Free ConsultationTACOMA, WA – The Tacoma Fire Department responded to an independent living facility in the 1600 block of S. Union Ave on Wednesday morning after receiving calls concerning heightened carbon monoxide levels.
Firefighters are on scene of a hazardous conditions incident at an independent living facility in the 1600 blk of S. Union Ave. Some occupants are being evacuated for elevated carbon monoxide level readings in parts of the structure. There are no initial reports of any injuries.

The firefighters arrived at the facility just before 7 a.m. Wednesday. Crews helped evacuate some of the people who were living in the building and then ventilated it.
At 7:30 a.m., Tacoma Fire determined that the carbon monoxide levels inside the building were low enough for residents to safely come back inside. No one was injured and the cause of the elevated carbon monoxide levels was not disclosed.
