Spokane, Washington – Three-Vehicle Accident at Washington Street

Spokane, Washington (September 17, 2019) – A collision involving three vehicles occurred at North Washington Street near North River Drive on Tuesday morning. No injuries were reported in the school bus and sedan involved in the collision. However, the driver of the third vehicle was taken to the hospital as they had an old injury that might have been worsened b the crash.

The crash was first reported around 8 a.m. The school bus was northbound on North Washington Street, while the sedan was attempting to turn to North River Drive from southbound Washington Street. The bus and the sedan collided, and the sedan crashed into a third vehicle that was behind it. The children were loaded onto another school bus after the accident. The crash caused traffic to be backed up as the scene was being cleaned of debris.

School buses are among the most well-known means of transportation. From the American School Bus Council, an estimated 480,000 yellow school buses provide transportation daily in the United States, with a figure of 25 million elementary and secondary school children riding these buses. We can gather from these facts that school buses are generally safe for those passengers and drivers, and fatalities usually involve someone else on the street.
