Spokane, Washington – One Person Injured in Car-Pickup Truck Collision

Spokane, Washington (December 4, 2019) – One person was reported to have sustained minor injuries in a collision at East 8th Avenue and South Thor Street on Wednesday evening. The driver of the car had injuries that was reported to require medical attention, but the driver was not transported to a hospital following the incident. The occupants of the truck fled the scene and police were unable to locate them. While gunshots were heard from the scene there were no reports of injuries caused by gunshots in the scene.

According to the report, the pickup truck was heading east on 8th Avenue when it struck a car on South Thor Street in a T-bone collision around 7 p.m. At least two occupants of the truck were reported to have fled the scene, and police believe the gunshots may be linked to the people in the truck. The incident caused the street to be closed between Fifth and Ninth Avenues while police were clearing the scene.

In rollover collisions, the car will come to rest on its side or roof, resulting in a dangerous situation which passengers might need to be extricated from. In side collisions, the greatest risk comes to the passenger on the particular side that received the impact. No matter the type of accident, all crashes are bound to cause a dreadful situation for all involved.
