Sequim, Washington (May 29, 2019) – One driver was killed following a head-on collision that occurred on the stretch of Highway 101 between River Road and South Sequim Avenue on Wednesday afternoon. The identity of the victim has not been provided

The incident happened around 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The circumstances leading up to the crash has not been specified, but two drivers were involved. The causing driver has been arrested and is suspected of DUI. Because the crash blocked both lanes of the highway, Washington State Department of Transportation representatives were present to divert traffic in the area.

In rollover collisions, the car will come to rest on its side or roof, resulting in a dangerous situation which passengers might need to be extricated from. In side collisions, the greatest risk comes to the passenger on the particular side that received the impact. No matter the type of accident, all crashes are bound to cause a dreadful situation for all involved.
