Seattle, Washington (January 21, 2020) – Minor injuries were reported in a collision involving a Seattle Police Department patrol car and a civilian vehicle on the intersection of Stewart Street and Third Avenue on Tuesday night. According to the report from KOMO News, the 57 year-old civilian driver sustained minor injuries int he incident but did not require hospitalization. No other injuries were reported in the incident, but the crash knocked down a street sign and caused minor damage to a rental car agency.

The incident was first reported around 10 p.m. The cause and circumstances of the collision has not yet been detailed.

In 2017, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT)  have reported a total of 120, 993 car accidents. Of those accidents, 525 were fatal and 34, 311 were possible or suspected of injuries. In rollover collisions, the car will come to rest on its side or roof, resulting in a dangerous situation which passengers might need to be extricated from. In side collisions, the greatest risk comes to the passenger on the particular side that received the impact. No matter the type of accident, all crashes are bound to cause a dreadful situation for all involved.
