Seattle, Washington – Kitchen Fire Causes Closure of Restaurant

Seattle, Washington (August 14,  2019) – A fire which broke out in the kitchen of an establishment at the 200 block of Pike Street caused the business to close. The affected business, Ludi’s Restaurant, will be closed until further notice. Fortunately, no one was inside the place when the fire broke out, and no injuries were reported.

The fire department responded to the scene around 3:30 a.m.  The fire was swiftly dealt with, with crews reporting the fire to be under control by 3:45 a.m. According to crews, a fire in the kitchen extended into the restaurant’s ventilation ducts. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

It is fortunate that no one was injured in this particular case, and the firefighters are to be commended for their response. Like any other structure, commercial buildings must be checked for fire safety. Most if not all the steps in fire safety involve securing the area of one’s business or residence. It is also important to make sure that possible combustible materials are discarded properly or at the very least kept away from buildings. Additionally, the owners of buildings are urged to review fire safety and make sure that an escape plan is formulated in case of fire.

Fire safety is then not only consideration for one’s self, but also consideration for others.
