Puyallup, Washington – Collision at 3rd Street Southeast

Puyallup, Washington (June-July 2019) – A collision involving two cars was reported on 3rd Street Southeast at 4th Avenue Southeast. There were no injuries reported, and the driver at fault was arrested.

The crash occurred as driver at fault attempted to cross 3rd Street Southeast and failed to yield to a northbound driver. This driver was also found to not have been carrying his insurance, a suspended license and had a warrant for a previous Driving While Suspended offense. He was arrested by Puyallup police. The date of this incident has not been specified, but it was reported alongside other incidents in the Puyallup Police Blotter in the date range of June 27-July 5.

In 2017, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT)  have reported a total of 120, 993 car accidents. Of those accidents, 525 were fatal and 34, 311 were possible or suspected of injuries. Similarly, victims of side collisions and rollover collisions also suffer may also suffer head and neck injuries, though the risk is lower in these types of collisions. In rollover collisions, the car will come to rest on its side or roof, resulting in a dangerous situation which passengers might need to be extricated from. In side collisions, the greatest risk comes to the passenger on the particular side that received the impact. No matter the type of accident, all crashes are bound to cause a dreadful situation for all involved.
