SEQUIM, WA — According to Peninsula Daily News, 69-year-old Siegrried Rombs of Port Angeles has been identified as the driver and sole person injured in a single-car accident that occurred this past Friday morning on U.S. Highway 101 by Sequim Bay Road.

Following the wreck, Rombs was transported by airlift to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center around 10:35 a.m. The incident left traffic blocked along the highway in both directions for around two hours.

Rombs’ vehicle, whose make was not made known by State Patrol, was traveling along Highway 101 eastbound when it went off course and into the eastbound ditch, where it was found rolled to an upside-down rest, completely destroyed.

State Patrol said that no drugs or alcohol are suspected, and that Rombs was seat-belted.

According to emergency personnel, the vehicle was carrying no other passengers, and no others were injured in the incident.
