SEATTLE, WA – Police are investigating an accident that occurred last night off Southwest Barton Street as a hit-and-run, according to reports from the West Seattle Blog.

The accident happened at about 5:40 p.m. at the intersection of SW Barton and Southwest 36th Avenue.

Based on local reports, the area has been much more heavily traveled since the closure of the West Seattle Bridge, with many people driving at a high rate of speed.

The driver fled the scene after the collision in what may have been a silver SUV, according to eyewitnesses.

It is unclear at this time if anyone was injured in the collision.

Officials continue to investigate the collision and are asking any possible witnesses to come forward with information or potential video evidence.

This is one in a series of reports provided by Caffee Law as a service to inform our Seattle neighbors about traffic news and accidents in the area.
