KING COUNTY, WA — A woman was seriously hurt Wednesday morning after a hit-and-run collision in Renton’s La Rosa Meadows neighborhood.

According to the Renton Police Department, the crash occurred at the intersection of South Puget Drive and Benson Road at about 9:00 a.m.

An investigation indicates the woman was walking in a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a blue-colored SUV. The at-fault driver immediately fled southbound on Benson Drive.

A witness passing through the area alerted authorities after finding the injured woman near the crosswalk.

The victim suffered serious injuries that included leg fractures and a number of lacerations.

Renton Police are actively searching for a suspect vehicle they described as a small, blue SUV of a newer model with a broken windshield and other noticeable front-end damage.
