SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — A woman was hospitalized Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle in a downtown Edmonds crosswalk, according to My Edmonds News.

The crash happened on 5th Avenue South near Walnut Street at approximately 6:30 p.m.

A preliminary investigation indicates the woman was leaving a nearby business with a friend and both were walking northbound on 5th Avenue South when she was hit by a northbound driver.

The driver told authorities she did not see the two pedestrians in the crosswalk as she was turning left onto Walnut Street.

Medics transported the victim by ambulance to Swedish Edmonds Hospital, where she was treated for a possibly broken arm.

No other injuries were reported.

Edmonds police said because no third-party witnesses have come forward, they have been unable to determine which party was at fault based on their early investigation. No citations have been filed at this time.
