Pedestrian fatally struck by train near downtown Kent
Request Free ConsultationKING COUNTY, WA — A pedestrian died Thursday afternoon after being struck by a train near downtown Kent, according to KIRO 7 News.
The collision in an area between South 259th Street and James Street and was first reported by Kent Police at 3:23 p.m.
No information has been reported on the circumstances leading up to the incident or on the identity of the victim, but crews with Puget Sound Fire said the pedestrian was pronounced dead on scene.
Authorities shut down all roads between South 259th Street and James Street as an investigation was conducted.
Motorists were encouraged to divert around the stopped train through South 212th Street or South 277th Street.
