Parkland, Washington – Girl Suffers Serious Injuries After a Hit-and-Run

Parkland, Washington (May 11, 2019) – A child sustained serious injuries when she was hit by a car at the 900 block of 113th Street South on Saturday night. The state of her injuries has not been provided, but it was reported tat she will survive.

The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. when the victim was riding her scooter in the area. Deputies have stated that the child was wearing bright colors and a helmet, and had people watching over her. The car that struck her sped away from the scene. Police are currently looking for a dark-colored car with front damage.

Lately, distractions also cause accidents not only for drivers, but also pedestrians, specifically those who are using their phones while crossing the road. We urge everyone to exercise area awareness at all times and to keep their attention on the road. Avoiding accidents not only prevents loss, damage, injuries and death to one’s self, but also on other people in the surroundings.
