Parkland, Washington – Driver Injured in Truck Rollover, Crash Causes Fire

Parkland, Washington  (August 19, 2019) – The driver of a truck was injured following a crash at State Route 512 on early Monday morning. The driver was able to escape his vehicle before it burst into flames, but he still needed to be taken to an emergency room for treatment. No other vehicles were reported to be involved in the accident.

The crash happened around 2 a.m. on an eastbound lane near Portland Avenue East. According to the driver, the truck blew a tire, then struck a barrier, causing the vehicle to overturn. When the tire’s axle dragged across the ground, the sparks were said to have ignited the trailer, causing the vehicle to burn. The incident damaged the overpass and caused it to require some repairs. The crash also closed eastbound lanes and some westbound lanes, but all lanes were reopened by 7 a.m. after the truck had been towed away.
