One person killed during icy-road accident in Pierce County

GRAHAM, WA (PIERCE COUNTY) – At least one person was killed during a rollover accident in Pierce County this morning that was possibly caused in part by ice on the roadway, according to Graham Fire & Rescue.

The collision occurred in the 12800 block of 224th Street E, at about 7:30 a.m., and caused a vehicle to roll over.

One person died of injuries sustained during the crash. That person’s identity has not been released at this time.

According to authorities, the roads were slick and icy at the time.

Travelers were warned to avoid the area and to be cautious of the icy roadways while driving.
