One injured when driver crashes into parked car on I-5 in Everett

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — One person was seriously hurt Thursday night when a suspected DUI driver hit a vehicle at a prior crash site on Interstate 5 in Everett, reports FOX 13 Seattle.

The crash happened near milepost 192 and was first reported by Washington State Patrol shortly after 9:30 p.m.

According to WSP, the victim had been pulled over to the side of the road near the scene of a prior accident. While they were waiting in their car for a tow truck, another driver collided with the stopped vehicle.

Authorities said the victim suffered potentially serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The causing driver was arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence and faces a vehicular assault charge.
