RITZVILLE, WA – A number of highways in eastern Washington have been forced to close to traffic because of strong winds, heavy smoke, and the threat of impending wildfires.

According to KOMO News and the Washington State Department of Transportation, the following roadways are temporarily closed:

  • Westbound I-90 from the Grant County line to Ritzville
  • U.S. Highway 395 from State Route 26 to Ritzville
  • U.S. Highway 2 from Waterville to SR 17
  • State Route 172
  • State Route 7

Travelers are encouraged to take alternate routes while crews battle brush fires and clear collisions on these roadways.
